Description

Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance directs and oversees the financial activities of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, procurement, liquidity forecasting and supervising the AR and AP managers. The Director of Finance will play a significant role in the overall leadership of the company, with a seat at the table and an expectation to bring strategic ideas that will help achieve business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides analysis of business performance to the leadership team and participates in creative problem solving and exploitation of opportunities to drive the achievement of business objectives.
  • Performs monthly closing using the management systems and all other related programs. Generates and publishes monthly financial statements.
  • Works with management to accurately project impact of initiatives (what-if scenarios), etc. and reports actual, projected, and budgeted variances.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Manages and develops direct reports and collaborates with other managers to help develop best case scenarios that impact financial results.
  • Leads the annual budgeting process and coordinates forecasting with the management team.
  • Responsible for managing numerous regulatory and tax filings for multiple state and federal agencies and departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting; MBA or CPA is a plus.
  • 3-5 years supervision of accounting, financial, and cost accounting activities in a high paced manufacturing or warehousing operation including closing of monthly financial reports and distribution of reporting packages monthly.
  • Prior experience working with GAAP, spreadsheets, databases, pivot tables, etc.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent presentation skills are required.
  • Proficient in the use of QuickBooks (Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online versions).
  • Prior experience with Warehouse Management /ERP software is highly beneficial.
  • Must be able to work and manage effectively in a team environment and set priorities to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire direct staff and the management team to achieve financial and non-financial goals.

COMPENSATION

Currently, the good faith estimate of the annual salary range for this position is $125,000-$140,000. Where a successful applicant is slotted within this range will vary based on legitimate criteria, such as experience and skill level.
