Director of Engineering
AP Executive Staffing is partnered with a great company seeking an experienced leader to oversee their Engineering Department, in North Tonawanda, NY. This is a pivotal role for a well-established manufacturer of pumps and rotating machinery. The company is looking for a long-term leader to drive continuous improvement, and ensure products remain top-notch and competitive.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Engineering Department, overseeing a team of engineers providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Develop and implement new processes and standards to improve efficiency and ensure technical superiority in the market.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications for performance, quality, and cost.
- Oversee all technical documentation (drawings, bills of materials, service manuals) ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Provide cross-functional support to Sales, Manufacturing, and other departments by resolving technical and documentation issues quickly and effectively.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and change, bringing a proactive leadership style with a strong drive for results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related engineering discipline required.
- 10+ years of experience in a related field, preferably with rotating machinery design.
- Proven supervisory and technical leadership experience.
- Background with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with MRP systems, specifically Acumatica.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 standards.
- Excellent communication, planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Team-oriented and results-driven leadership style.
