Description
AP Executive Staffing is hiring Level II and III CNC Swiss/Mill Turn Machinist to work either 2nd or 3rd shifts for our customer, a rapidly growing manufacturer of complex medical devices located in the East Rochester, NY region. The CNC Swiss/Mill Turn Machinist programs, sets up, and operates Swiss style and Mill Turn CNC machines along with a variety of other machine tools. Working from part prints, process sheets, quality documentation, and CAD models to produce precision components to print.
Essential functions include:
Level II
- Review complex drawings and GT&D.
- Program and troubleshoot complex tool paths.
- Troubleshoot complicated process issues independently.
- Support training of Level I Machinist and Operators.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Work with other departments on projects, designs, and process improvements.
Level III
- Program, set-up, run parts, inspect, and make adjustments to produce conforming parts
- Support Discovery and Engineering on rapid prototyping and urgent request.
- Write and implement Macros.
- Support and train new employees on work order line clearances
- Mentor new employees and evaluate training requirements to meet KPI targets.
- Monitor Hourly Productivity & Quality report and resolve issues to meet daily targets.
- Participate in daily KPI meetings focused on identifying and resolving issues impacting goals
SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years’ advanced G-code programming, setting-up and operating Swiss style and Mill turn machines
- 3+ years experience writing complex, multi Axis programs (3+ Axis) precision parts
- 3+ years’ experience using CAM software (i.e. PartMaker or Esprit) to generate G-code automatically or semi-automatically based on the machining setup.
- 3+ years’ experience working with close tolerances in a variety of metals.
SKILL/EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES:
- Completion of trade school preferred.
- Partmaker/Esprit experience preferred
- Knowledge of SPC preferred.
SHIFT HOURS: 2nd shift 2pm - 10pm / 3rd shift 10:00 pm - 6:30 am
HOURLY RANGE: $25-$38/hour + $3000 sign-on bonus and outstanding benefits:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: lift and/or carry from 10-30 lbs (some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.); sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to eight hours per day in a manufacturing environment
