Job Overview:
The Quality Manager will lead the company's quality initiatives by ensuring the organization consistently delivers high-quality products and services that meet both internal and external customer requirements. This role involves overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and leading Six Sigma initiatives to achieve excellence in performance. The Quality Manager will also ensure compliance with accreditations, manage department resources, and improve both processes and procedures to drive efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 40-50 Quality Tech's and establish a culture focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant accreditations.
- Manage and monitor quality systems and processes to deliver products/services meeting customer expectations.
- Spearhead Six Sigma initiatives to reduce process variation and achieve benchmark standards across business operations.
- Support new product introductions, change control, and product validation.
- Oversee SHEQ systems, ensuring safe workplace practices and outstanding safety performance.
- Communicate effectively with teams to encourage high performance, engagement, and empowerment.
- Promote a culture of change and improvement, leading both breakthrough and incremental developments.
- Collaborate with corporate peers, integrating projects, procedures, and corporate initiatives.
- Ensure standardization and development of new standards when necessary.
- Manage department resources, capacity planning, and departmental budget.
- Review project progress, strategic goals, and process improvement initiatives.
- Improve and maintain best practices across processes and procedures.
- Manage supplier audits, internal audits, and auditor training.
- Address conflicts, resource allocation, and prioritize tasks for successful outcomes.
- Monitor and manage the non-conformance (NCR) and verification conformance request (VCR) systems.
- Track and manage the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or science-related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in management, quality, technical, or operations-related roles.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with a focus on team development and engagement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- ISO9000 Lead Assessor certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access).
- Expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other quality management tools.
- Practical experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a technical or capital equipment background.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Salary $100-125K DOE.
