Description
The Quality Manager can perform all the job duties of a Quality Control Technician and Quality Assurance Specialist employee but has a greater skill level and is responsible for the day-to-day operational supervision of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for enforcing and following all company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements regarding a safe work environment.
- Responsible for enforcing and following all company policies and industry standards to provide a quality product to the customer in an efficient and timely manner.
- Responsible for enforcing and following all company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to keep the company in good standing and permitted to produce products under the industry’s governing agency such as the National Precast Concrete Association and for governmental agencies such as the State of New York.
- Supervise and address direct reports in a professional and ethical manner by leading by example through demonstrating a positive and team-oriented attitude. Motivate coworkers to perform to the best of their abilities.
- Develop, prioritize, and direct daily work schedules for all Quality operations.
- Promote and educate direct reports on Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Encourage, investigate, and implement improvement ideas from direct reports.
- Develop, implement, and track crew training while providing appropriate direction and supervision.
- Ensure all tasks assigned are based on the individual’s capabilities. Demonstrate job duties to direct reports and observe their performance, intervene when necessary. Oversee progress throughout the shift and ensure work is being completed correctly, safely, and efficiently.
- Advise supervisor and Human Resources when performance or disciplinary issues arise. Do not address disciplinary issues without Human Resources involvement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
This role is a supervisory position with supervisory responsibilities as outlined throughout this entire job description.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as but not limited to safety rules, test analysis reports, operating and maintenance instructions, standard operating procedures, schematics, specifications, and production drawings.
OTHER SKILLS, IF ANY:
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read a tape measure and advanced knowledge of hand and power tools
- Operating knowledge of air meters, break machines, conveyor systems, and other quality control and manufacturing systems and equipment
- Strong basic mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- 10- or 30-Hour OSHA Certified in General Industry
- NPCA PQS Level 1 Certified, as a minimum (active)
- ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1, as a minimum (active)
SALARY: $75,000
