PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for development, implementation, maintenance and administration of purchasing IMA business.
- Responsible for development and implementation of information management systems and purchasing standards which promote superior quality service and product to our customers and the business.
- Responsible for developing outsourcing partnerships with quality suppliers that allows us to increase capacity with minimum administrative restrictions without affecting our fixed cost base.
- Work as an integrated project team member to achieve project team goals. Participative focus to be given to timely flow of materials into production.
- Develop vessel supply base to protect our business opportunities.
- Responsible for short and long-term development and coordination of information management activities.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining purchasing, materials, and documentation functions with expertise and capability to support the development of technologically superior equipment and business controls suited to IMA business.
- Responsible for managing purchasing transactions in the ERP system (SAP).
- Responsible for liaison with suppliers such that specifications laid down by the engineering functions are adhered to with due regard to relevant legislative standards and cost effectiveness.
- Responsible to establish vendor qualifications to support operations in terms of quality, cost and timeliness. Assure the purchasing department develops to modern standards in terms of good purchasing practices.
- Responsible for effective, courteous, and responsive actioning of customer requests.
- Responsible for personnel development within the logistics function. In so doing, the selection, hiring, training and promotion of personnel is performed without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, handicap, or veteran status.
- Responsible for overseeing the design, implementation and maintenance of information and control systems to allow effective cost management of large projects, in coordination with other group companies. Responsible also for the ongoing development and improvement of those systems.
- Responsible along with all employees for always acting in a manner which promotes the health and safety of all personnel in direct and indirect employ, visitors IMA and users of IMA equipment.
- Directly accountable for control of overhead expenditures. Indirectly accountable for the control of project contracts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Sound understanding of the operating principles and procedures of a manufacturing business, including aspects of engineering, production, purchasing, materials control, project control, and establishment.
- First-hand experience in communicating on an international basis aspect of logistics. Experience in discussions and negotiations with vendors and customers during the specification, design, construction and testing of large, technically complex industrial plant.
- Understanding the controls and reported required of multi-million capital intensive projects having international dimensions.
- Knowledge of mechanics of the freeze-drying process in pharmaceutical applications and the associated plan, control, and legislative parameters.
- Sound knowledge of international logistics requirements, safety regulations, contract interpretation, materials management, and negotiations with suppliers and customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Materials Management, Information Systems Management or similar discipline is essential, together with a strong technical understanding and at least five year’s logistics and operation experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally involving large complex plant supplied on a contractual basis.
- Clear people management capabilities should be evident. Personality traits should include forcefulness and pleasant aggression, ambition, enthusiasm, tact and diplomacy, perseverance, tenacity, good international communicating skills and a sense of humor.
- The potential for further advancement within the organization is essential.

- National and international travel is a requirement
Salary: $100-125k
