Description

AP Executive Staffing is hiring a part-time Bookkeeper for our customer, a highly reputable leader in their cybersecurity space who offers an extremely collaborative and supportive culture including the highest level of flexibility. With the option to work fully remote, you may need to visit their beautiful office space in downtown Buffalo a couple of days/month to collaborate with the team and pick up mail. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, taking ownership of day-to-day accounting tasks, and helping keep things organized behind the scenes. The bookkeeper will work closely with the owner/management team to manage cash flow, ensure bills are paid, and provide accurate financial information that supports decision-making. Specific duties include:

  • Utilize QuickBooks to record daily sales, expenses, deposits, and other financial transactions.

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including sending invoices, tracking payments, and following up with customers/vendors.

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.

  • Prepare simple financial reports (profit & loss, cash flow summaries, etc.) to share with management.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for tax and compliance purposes.

  • Process payroll or coordinate with outside payroll service providers.

  • Assist the owner/management with budgeting and cash flow planning.

  • Provide occasional administrative support related to finance (filing, document management, vendor communications).

Skill/Experience Qualifications

  • Prior bookkeeping experience in a small business environment is required.

  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, reconciliations).

  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with vendors, customers, and team members.

  • Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time: 20–30 hours per week (flexible schedule, may increase during busy periods).

Hourly compensation: $25-$30/hour based on experience
