AP Executive Staffing is searching nationwide for a Product Sales Manager for our customer, a trusted supplier to global industries for over 60 years. Specializing in precision-engineered sealing solutions, this company produces and fabricates a wide range of high-performance components—from custom rubber parts and gaskets to advanced thermal and EMI protection materials supporting diverse sectors including aerospace, electronics, and industrial manufacturing. This direct hire, newly created role, is 100% remote with approximately 50% travel to perform the following duties:

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and government contractors requiring precision-engineered elastomeric components for mission-critical applications.
  • Manage and expand existing customer accounts by providing application-specific technical support, ensuring product performance aligns with environmental, mechanical, and compliance requirements.
  • Interface with engineering and manufacturing teams to define, develop, and deliver custom rubber components designed to meet exacting standards, including MIL-SPEC, AS9100, and other aerospace or defense specifications.
  • Conduct on-site technical discussions and product presentations to demonstrate material properties, performance characteristics, and conformity with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, pricing models, and long-term supply terms with a focus on both cost-effectiveness and lifecycle value.
  • Maintain a pulse on industry developments, government procurement processes, and technology roadmaps to identify and strategically pursue aligned business opportunities.
  • Document all sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progression within CRM systems to ensure data integrity and forecasting accuracy.
  • Represent the company’s technical capabilities and solution portfolio at industry-specific trade shows, technical symposiums, and procurement events within the defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors.

Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical sales or business development experience within rubber molding manufacturing, with a proven track record serving industrial, defense, or aerospace markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of elastomer molding technologies, including compression, transfer, and injection processes, along with a strong grasp of how material properties respond to high-stress and extreme environmental conditions.
  • Working familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulatory frameworks, such as AS9100, MIL-SPEC, and ITAR compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in technically detailed discussions with engineering teams, supply chain leaders, and program managers, translating complex requirements into effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building trust-based customer relationships and navigating contract negotiations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) within the assigned region to support customer engagement, site visits, and project collaboration.
  • Proficient in the use of CRM systems for sales tracking and pipeline management, as well as Microsoft Office applications for reporting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling into defense contractors, aerospace OEMs, or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Understanding of supply chain requirements for long lifecycle programs and mission-critical applications.
  • Existing network of contacts in the defense and aerospace ecosystem.

Salary range for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Base salary range for this role is $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 on an annual basis in addition to a commission plan with unlimited earnings (average earnings $130-300K+).
