AP Executive Staffing is hiring an HR Clerk / Administrative Support professional for our customers, a widely respected human services non-profit in Amherst, NY. This immediate temporary (with a possibility for temp to hire) opportunity will work 8-4pm, Mon-Fri, onsite (some flexibility on start time and part-time hours).
You will provide essential administrative assistance to the Human Resources department, supporting daily onboarding and benefits operations. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to gain foundational HR experience in a mission-driven, team-oriented non-profit environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with maintaining employee records (physical and digital)
- Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire paperwork and scheduling orientations
- Help track employee attendance, time-off requests, and other HR-related data
- Prepare and update basic reports using Microsoft Excel (e.g., contact lists, leave balances)
- Respond to general HR inquiries, and direct calls or messages as appropriate
- Assist with filing, document scanning, and organizing HR-related information
Maintain confidentiality and follow data protection policies at all times
Skill/Experience requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of clerical operations including basic MS Office, especially MS Excel
- Basic knowledge of HR principals preferred (training will be provided)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn
- Interest in non-profit or community service work
Pay range: $19-$20/hour
