Our client is a leading manufacturer of engineered construction products consisting of thermally and seismically-designed expansion joint systems, life-safety fire barriers, insulated vapor barriers, and waterproof systems. Expansion joints, insulated vapor barriers, and fire barriers are utilized in many markets within the commercial construction industry including Healthcare, Transportation, Parking Structures, Stadiums & Arenas, Commercial and Educational facilities.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Estimator’s role includes quantity survey, specification analysis, review of likely competitor’s product offerings, preparation of quotes and proposals and collaboration with Regional Managers and Independent Representatives to develop competitive and profitable quotations for targeted projects.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Plan reading expertise and specification review experience.
- Electronic take-off experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical documents.
- Spatial understanding of building plans in three dimensions.
- Experience in estimating engineered building products.
- Experience in developing successful quotations to overcome perceived competitor’s advantages.
- Industry-related degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- CAD skills a plus.
