Description

The Safety Manager will oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing risks within the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety management.

Salary is $80,000 - $90,000; commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS & compliance field
  • Ability to balance compliance with business needs and help to incorporate both.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient with MS Office 365
  • Fully engaged and self-starting. Possess a strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability/experience in an environment of change and continuous improvement

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and excel skills as well as demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data to analyze information while still seeing the "big picture"
  • Project management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Results oriented with a willingness to get the job done
  • Familiar with material processing systems such a shredders, conveyance, bailing, air handling equipment, and various heavy equipment

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Improve, maintain and monitor the QEHS Management System, including monitoring performance to regulations applicable to the electronics industry
  • Participate in all QEHS Audits of our facilities and processes
  • Present updates, findings, and recommendations to internal counterparts and upper management
  • Assess existing as well as develop new tools and processes
  • Establish operating procedures that may have a company-wide effect on monitoring processes and protocols
  • Work with all staff to recommend modifications to organizational policies and/or training as a result of compliance monitoring findings
  • Documents non-conformities and its process, management agenda meetings, corrective action reports, facility inspection reports, emergency drills, equipment condition reports, injury/incident investigations, Workers Compensation claims, employee training records, forklift training and certification, SDS sheets
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims
  • Ensure all actions and products comply with the company's commitment to quality and regulations governing the QEHS Management System
  • Direct the internal Safety Committee team to drive and communicate to all staff various initiatives and results
  • Working closely with multiple departments consisting of Operations, HR, Logistics, Product Sales and Admin to manage facility safety programs while addressing root cause and corrective actions for safety issues and development of a safer work environment
  • Provide technical and administrative support for permit applications, reporting, and regulatory compliance as it pertains to universal waste, storm water, electronics, solid waste, hazardous waste, etc. on a federal, state, and/or local level.
