Join a leading employer in Western New York as an Electrical Engineer. Our client is dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency in electrical power distribution systems and are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the design, planning, and execution of preventative maintenance and capital upgrades/expansions for our electrical power distribution systems. As the subject matter expert in primary power and substation distribution, as well as lighting and associated control systems, you will play a critical role in enhancing our electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Planning: Lead the design and planning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Create and implement preventative maintenance programs for electrical distribution systems to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
  • Capital Projects: Identify and oversee capital projects aimed at upgrading electrical infrastructure to support increasing electrical demands. This includes evaluating existing systems and proposing enhancements to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply relevant electrical codes, regulations, and engineering best practices to ensure all designs and projects comply with state and federal standards.
  • Collaboration: Interact effectively with utility companies, state agencies such as NYPA and NYSERDA, and internal stakeholders to coordinate efforts, share information, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to other engineering team members and stakeholders, offering insights on best practices in electrical design and system management.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of all designs, projects, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance and facilitate future planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • NYS Professional Engineering (PE) license required or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire.
  • 5-10 years of design and/or maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in the interpretation of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Salary is up to $130K commensurate with experience.
