Buyer

PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Establish and maintain vendor base for the supply of required materials
2. Procure, track and expedite materials to ensure customer satisfaction
3. Participate in supplier audits and vendor assessments
4. Promote and develop competitive bidding situations
5. Work to reduce costs of purchased goods
6. Generate reports to track P.O.’s, safety stock, inventory values, etc.
7. Maintain MRP data accuracy
8. Interface with other departments as needed
9. Other tasks as deemed appropriate

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Strong communications skills with emphasis on positive vendor relations.
2. Strong PC skills with emphasis on SAP.
3. Strong organizational skills; ability to effectively coordinate concurrent tasks.
4. Associates degree in technical or Supply Chain Management or HS Diploma with 8 years of relevant work experience
5. Minimum of 5 year purchasing experience

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

• Overtime and travel as necessary
• Physical presence needed onsite

POSITION: Onsite

SALARY: Based on experience up to $64k
