APX Staffing is hiring a Welding Engineer for our customer, a leading designer and manufacturer of temperature sensors and compression seal fittings. The growing demand for our customer's cutting edge solutions are paving the way for innovators and leaders to become part of their growth! In this role, you will be a key contributor of welding/manufacturing engineering and technical leadership in support of welding and brazing, assembly, and manufacturing, both for day-to-day operations as well as project-based support based on customer needs. You will be challenged to develop robust and repeatable joining procedures for high precision components using different welding technologies such as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Electron Beam Welding (EBW) , Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Vacuum Furnace Brazing and Brazing.
Essential Duties Include:
- Applies technical engineering skillset to analyze process efficiency, troubleshoot defects, perform quality control functions, and drive cost savings.
- Evaluates, applies, and develops complex welding specifications per industry standards and as per customer requirement.
- Develop and Maintain weld qualification reports, weld procedure specifications, and work instructions as needed.
- Communicates technical details and provides training to operations teammates and customer when needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials Science, Mechanical or Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 3+ Years Minimum relevant experience performing welding engineering or similar metal product processing and weld procedures for EBW, LBW, GTAW, and/or Furnace Processes
- 3+ Years of Research and development experience in welding processes and/or welding metallurgy
- Technical understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgy
Education and Experience Preferences:
- Master’s degree Welding, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited program/university
- Strong desire to drive advancements in welding technology and processes
- Ability to quickly adapt to new processes and materials
Salary: $90 - 115k
