Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a food manufacturer looking to add a Quality Supervisor to their team. The Quality Supervisor would be responsible for overseeing 1 - 3 Quality Technicians, driving continuous improvement efforts, and handling audits.  Previous experience in a food manufacturing or processing plant desired. Strong leadership skills required!

Responsibilities

  • Audit food safety related quality processes to ensure leaders and technicians are maintaining all process parameters set by Company.
  • Audit product quality reports on processing lines to ensure proper grade levels are being recorded and customer requirements are being satisfied
  • Perform line sanitation, HACCP line safety audits and housekeeping audits as directed or needed
  • Ensure all process deviations are properly segregated, identified and documented
  • Monitor to ensure any rework or allergen issues are reported and documented
  • Complete product releases as needed or directed by QSM, Operations Manager and/or Facility Manager
  • Communication of specification and requirements as needed
  • Assist in third party, regulatory, customer/company tours as needed
  • Ensure microbiological samples are properly drawn, submitted and data is documented and trended
  • Work with Operations to communicate problem deviations, potential problems and holds
  • Aid in maintaining facility costs through understanding cost system to help report and remove waste
  • Daily review /audit of critical records
  • Work with Quality Manager to ensure data entry sheets are accurate and up to date and technicians are trained to properly use the system
  • Review processing schedule and quality requirements to determine staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments
  • Work with Quality Manager and production staff to continually improve and maintain quality of existing product
  • Review all data obtained during quality assurance activities including production quality, maintenance and operation reports to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures and to detect production issues
  • Participate in quality management team food safety committee
  • Adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Works with Quality Manager on Quality department employees training, performance management, discipline, and addressing complaints and resolving issues as directed

Education

  • Associates degree in Food Science or Biological Science; or related field

Experience

  • Prior experience in food processing
  • Knowledge of GFSI, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
