Responsibilities
- ensure the timely processing of payroll-related changes (hires, terminations, etc.)
- verify that systems are set up to be compliant with various contracts/policies
- manage the reporting of all payroll taxes
- supervise direct reports in the payroll department
- takes the lead with all payroll-related reporting to management and external parties
- take initiative to document processes and create process improvements for better efficiency
- work cross-functionally with HR and IT to add value to the company
Education
- bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field
- CPP, or willingness to obtain designation, preferred
Experience
- 5+ years of payroll management experience
- 2-3 years experience with a multi-state payroll department, minimum
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- need to be a strong leader with a heart for developing people
- must have a comfort level with customer service and collaboration with teammates
