Description
Our client is a large, private manufacturer headquartered in Rochester, NY. The company has added a new position to be focused on the enhanced utilization of their ERP system and available add on tools for improved controls and efficient reporting. This role requires someone with a strong finance background with also having solid technology skills. An ideal candidate is someone who began their career in finance but with broad exposure to ERP implementations and a solid understanding of financial reporting and the opportunities to use systems effectively. This position would be interfacing extensively with the controller and operations finance leaders as well as IT. The ultimate goal of this position is to facilitate financial reporting
Responsibilities
- Systems administrator for all financial applications- including GL System, Reporting Applications, Expense Management, and other Relational Database Applications
- Provides documentation for all finance activity flows through the systems
- Employs a mindset of process improvement to continually optimize utilization of available financial systems
- Reduces the utilization of off-system (i.e. Excel) reports.
- Ensures the integrity of financial information within the systems
- Participates in updates, testing, and implementation efforts
- Works cross-functionally to provide solutions for financial reporting needs across the business
- Owns the budgeting and forecasting tools used for the company's financial analysis functions
- Builds modeling tools
Education
- This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Business, Finance, IT, Economics, or Mathematics
- An MBA is highly desired
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- 2-4 years (at a minimum) of experience working on systems related projects within a finance function. This would ideally be in a manufacturing setting and directly tied to ERP Systems utilization
- Experience with ERP Systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP), BI tools, and other relational database tools
