Description

AP Professionals has partnered with an industrial parts distributor in Rochester, NY that is looking to add a Field Technician / Inventory Specialist to their growing team. Open due to a promotion! The Field Technician / Inventory Specialist will be responsible for providing exception customer and technical service while engaging with local team members on the sales and office team. This position is a full-time, temp – hire position with hours of 8AM – 5PM, Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, assist walk-in customers, and receive faxes and e-business orders to quote price and availability of products
  • Be a liaison between customer, factory, and local salespeople.
  • Participate in and promote services such as free delivery and customer solutions and assembly service
  • Acquire a working knowledge of product to effectively and directly answer customer inquiries
  • Coordinate inventory availability between the factor and 3 local WNY offices
  • Restock products based on pre-set quantities and agreed-upon replenishment schedule
  • Coordinate delivery schedule and assist customers with special requests
  • Utilize appropriate inventory maintenance tools, including Inventory Management Software (IMS)
  • Maintain brand image by organizing bins and storage area for products
  • Provide continuous support for customer needs by building working customer relationships
  • Schedule and perform regular VMI or consigned inventory audits
  • Promote new products and service opportunities as necessary
  • Schedule and maintain a delivery program with planned visits weekly or bi-weekly for select customer groups
  • Ensure the delivery vehicle is maintained in an appropriate manner
  • Accepts all incoming shipments from various carriers, including freight, using a process involving physical check in and electronic documentation, and accuracy assurance measures
  • Acts quickly with any discrepancies and ensures quality and accuracy of product upon arrival into facility
  • Maintains paperwork and documentation for receiving inspections
  • Contacts freight carriers or customers for special pick up requirements
  • Maintains paperwork and documentation for shipment of orders
  • Performs regular cycle counts of inventory to ensure integrity and accuracy of products
  • Reconciles inventory discrepancies
  • Consistently follow a personal development plan and training curriculum

Experience

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company truck
  • Passion for developing solid working relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong interest in personal development and contributing to a positive work environment
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Detail oriented and extremely organized
