Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a precision machining parts manufacturer seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team. The Engineering Manager will supervise the Manufacturing Engineering team, manage projects, and support production. The ideal candidate will have strong creative problem solving skills and the desire to grow within the organization. ISO 9000 experience is required and AS9100 experience a plus. 10+ years’ engineering management experience is necessary for success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the Manufacturing Engineering team
  • Provide engineering and technical direction to internal staff and customers
  • Resolve day-to-day technical, maintenance, material, and scheduling production issues
  • Ensure proper installation, debug and setup of equipment and tooling
  • Maintain a solid understanding of customer specifications and requirements
  • Manage assigned projects and develop structured goals. Report any deviations
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in quoting new projects and troubleshooting production issues
  • Occasionally travel to customer and vendor sites to develop relationships, establish communication standards and metrics, and create new product variations

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline highly preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years’ proven engineering management experience required, preferably in a machine shop environment
  • Project management experience required
  • ISO 9000 experience required
  • AS9100 experience a plus
  • AutoCad, Unigraphics, Mastercam, and PartMaker experience highly preferred
  • Expert working knowledge of SPC and GD&T highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, and Hiedenhain controls preferred
  • Knowledge of International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) policies required
  • Must be self-motivated with high-energy
  • Hands-on management/leadership style required
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels required
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment required
