AP Professionals has partnered with a local real estate developer in search of a Construction Manager. This direct hire, full-time position is newly created due to growth and will report directly to the VP. The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the construction renovation process of existing commercial and residential properties in the Great Rochester Area. Responsibilities will include project budgeting, scheduling, and implementation. High attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and strong organization and communication skills are key for success in this role.

Direct hire, central Rochester location, $75 – 85K

Responsibilities of the Construction Manager

  • Oversee residential and commercial construction renovation projects through completion
  • Manage construction progress to monitor building and safety regulations compliance
  • Coordinate and manage construction workers and subcontractors
  • Track inventory to maintain necessary tools, materials, and equipment
  • Review scheduled deliverables and estimate costs
  • Review and report on work in progress daily
  • Forecast problems and resolve emerging issues to reduce / eliminate risk
  • Obtain permits and licenses by drafting contracts and negotiating agreements
  • Ensure proper construction techniques and standards are in practice

Requirements of the Construction Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction (residential or commercial) management required
  • Advanced knowledge of construction regulations and quality standards required
  • Expert knowledge of the construction process and applicable software required
  • Strong conflict resolution, leadership, and team management skills required
  • Strong project and time management skills
