Company is a major fabricator and supplier of quality reinforcing bar, welded wire mesh, bar supports, accessories and anchor bolts to meet the needs of a variety of industries, including commercial contractors, home builders, municipalities, highway and bridge contractors and DOT projects. They sell concrete reinforcing products throughout the Northeast United States.

Position: Technical Business to Business Construction Sales Position and Project Management for steel reinforcing used in large commercial and industrial concrete projects.

Seeking a person who can review contract documents (structural plans etc), perform detailed and accurate take-offs of concrete steel reinforcing elements, and provide detailed and accurate quotes. After sales are made, the position requires much follow through with full customer service, job site visits, and order control.  We expect excellent customer service and prompt attention when quotes or project attention is needed.

This is a highly technical and detail oriented, sales/project management position requiring developing relationships with a core set of customers who are well connected and known throughout the concrete construction industry. It is a very rewarding position for the individual who can adapt to the different styles of customers work to build rapport and credibility, and take ownership of a project.

Technical and Computer Skills for the proper candidate:

  1. Excellent Plan Reading skills, able to review plans quickly and efficiently and following section cuts on plan and elevation views through to detail sheets.
  2. Excel Spreadsheet Data entry and moderate editing of formulas
  3. MS Word, Document creation, formatting, Requests for Information, etc.
  4. Great Math skills, with and without a calculator (be able to do take-off by hand or with computer, MS Excel).
  5. Bluebeam REVU, Adobe Acrobat Editing of PDF's, Planswift etc, or other construction estimating software is of great use in this position.

The candidate should have sales experience related to project-specific/construction business to business sales. This is not a position where blanket-selling and mass calling offers any results.  We are a small office with a relaxed atmosphere, we have high expectations for sales and production results as well as from our customers expecting prompt and accurate service and results. We require a positive and upbeat attitude with motivation to excel at work each and every day, as well as the desire to truly help peers and customers in their needs.

Salary will be dependent upon past experience and ability.  Our goal is to bring on someone who wants to be with us for years, and have the opportunity to grow themselves as well as our business.
