Our Northtown client has an immediate opening for a qualified Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience with Paychex and processing payroll.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and maintenance of all new hire and terminating employees for payroll, timesheet and labor entry in system(s), maintain personnel, I-9 and related files
  • Process weekly and biweekly payroll and labor and leave accruals for all companies
  • Responsible for all benefit plan implementation and communication including annual renewals and open enrollment
  • Responsible for 401(k) transmission of contributions and annual census data reporting
  • Prepare and submit annual EEOl, Vets 4212, and OSHA 300 reporting
  • Maintenance and update of Employee Handbook and company employment forms
  • Prepare and/or review vendor invoices for accuracy
  • Prepare and/or review and submit semi-annual and annual Workers Compensation, SBA and Commercial Liability insurances for premium calculation/payment
  • Responsible for disability/workers compensation claims submission and coordinate FMLA, COBRA, and unemployment requirements
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for management including employment verification
  • Develop and maintain Affirmative Action Plan and reporting

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information, and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling information
  • Deltek CostPoint experience a plus
  • MS Sharepoint experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Paychex and payroll processing
  • Knowledge of FSLA and other federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Working knowledge of compensation plans, benefit plans, COBRA to communicate effectively to employees of all levels
  • Must be able to prioritize and work under pressure independently or as a team member
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the utilization of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
