Customer service and clerical position requiring the completion of general office, patient accounting and reception related tasks for a group medical practice specializing in cardiology.  Interaction will primarily involve patients, physicians, mid-level providers and medical office staff.


  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years' prior experience working within an administrative/office setting
  • Previous experience in a health care setting in which the primary responsibilities involved the completion of clerical, general office, patient accounting and reception oriented tasks is preferred


  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone
  • Answers questions and inquiries, takes accurate messages and routes calls to appropriate department
  • Schedules patient appointments using EMR application
  • Adheres to scheduling guidelines as defined by the practice
  • Makes scheduling adjustments where applicable to maximize office efficiency
  • Strives to provide comfortable patient environment by addressing questions and maintaining an organized reception area
  • Sends patient correspondence where applicable
  • Maintains patients’ accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Verifies patient insurance and co-payment, deductible, or co-insurance data
  • Collects and records insurance co-payments, deductible, or co-insurance payments
  • Follows all HIPAA Privacy Regulations and maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times
