Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an Inside Sales Representative who will be responsible for qualifying leads and scheduling appointments for the outside sales consultants. An important part of this position is sales development through proactive research of new commercial/industrial opportunities and helping derive strategies and pathways to set appointments with key personnel and decision makers.

Inside Consultants become market experts in desktop reviews of potential locations for solar arrays, Federal and State incentives, utility rate plans, financing options, the Company's product offering and turnkey process. The ideal candidate must be a team player, a great listener and have the ability to both locate and qualify a high volume of leads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the success of the organization by guiding quality prospects through the sales channel
  • Proactively research new commercial sales opportunities with a goal of garnering prospective customer business and setting an initial appointment for outside sales
  • Manage lead flow to ensure customer satisfaction and successfully grow team sales
  • Determine suitability of sites using proprietary tools and satellite technology
  • Must be able to elicit customer’s interest and concerns while providing pertinent information
  • Provide customers with information such as quotations, warranties, credit information, funding options, incentives and tax rebates
  • Document all relevant information in Company's ERP/ CRM system to ensure proper follow up
  • Schedule consultations over the phone for our sales consultants
  • Must be customer focused at all times to ensure high quality customer satisfaction
  • Exceed set quotas and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as become evident


  • Associates degree in Business Administration or equivalent required
  • Have at least 2 to 4 years of sales experience
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and CRM systems
  • Proven track record of working successfully in a target driven environment
  • Proven ability to uncover new sales opportunities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use sound judgement in the qualifying process
  • Must have good mathematical and analytical skills with an ability to converse technically
  • Experience in the solar industry preferred, but not required
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management and organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/ customer service skills via telephone
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit at a computer for an extended period of time
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license
  • Hours of work can vary due to Trade Shows, Sales Meetings, travel time, preparation to meet deadlines
  • Extended travel may be necessary (overnight stays) for Trade Shows, Sales Meetings, etc.
  • Lifting of samples, literature and supplies are necessary, lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally
