SUMMARY:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for component selections, hardware designs, electrical layouts, supporting the development of new products, pre-sale technical support, creating and maintaining manufacturing and service documents, assisting with product application inquiries, quality controls, commissioning, and the test and verification of a wide range of custom cooling solutions.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, read, review, and approve electrical drawings, proposals, quotes, BOM’s, production drawings, and installation and operating manual documentation
  • Support the training, startup, and commissioning of equipment
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Participate in the engineering of current, re-designed, or new products utilizing phased or stage-gate scheduling techniques
  • Work with the production team on making product changes to enhance design, improve quality, productivity, cost, or other operational objectives
  • Work with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features and capabilities, investigate sources of special equipment, material, or devices
  • Obtain quotes, prepare requisitions, and qualify supplier components
  • Create and execute test plans for electrical hardware, electrical system, and perform or oversee lab development and validation testing
  • Execute proper root cause and corrective action methodology

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of position-related experience, knowledge of HVAC equipment is a plus
  • Understanding of high AC voltage, single and 3 phase and AC/DC low voltage wiring systems
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD or other electrical software to create and modify electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of specifications, codes, and standards used in commercial HVAC industry such as NEC, IEC, UL, ETL, NFPA, etc.
  • Electrical and Electro-Mechanical aptitude with position-related hands-on experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Able to assist in multiple ongoing projects and meet project task deadlines as assigned
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Able to communicate clearly, verbally and via emails with MS Outlook, or other communication tools
  • Must be customer service oriented; internally, and externally
  • Effectively perform assignments, often with minimal supervision
  • Motivated, energetic, and proactive individual that enjoys the challenges that a fast paced and technology-driven company that the company brings

 

OVERTIME / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Overtime (OT) will be required from time to time for short-term or long-term duration, as business needs mandate.  Travel may be required by any mode of transportation as determined by company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, project site visits, skill development or training.
