SUMMARY

The position of Technician II is responsible for assuming higher level technical support for the organization. This position is responsible for scheduling, building, assembling. repairing and installing within the facility or at the customers locations all types of products within the company Product lines, including electro magnets, grapples, granulators and electric motor support.  Primarily focusing on support for the Magnet Division of the Company, this position also is key to customer support for technical diagnosis and assembly of equipment to include magnets, granulators, grapples, hydraulic systems, mechanical and electrical systems, motors and control boxes.  This position must possess strong customer service qualities while interacting with customers as well as possess solid communication skills, both verbal and written. The position is a resource to the Sales Teams within the organization, assisting and supporting technical inquiries, troubleshooting, training (in person and virtual) on products and product related matters.  Must become familiar with and assume the responsibility of the expert in equipment applications.  By nature of their technical knowledge, this position supports the development of technical materials, policies, and brochures used for both internal and external purposes.

 

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Additional hours as business demands

Dress Code:

  • Clean (no rips, stains or inappropriate language) pants and
  • Personal protective equipment as job demands (hard hat, safety glasses and ear plugs)

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Determine scheduling of jobs and prioritization to be completed
  • Manages physical inventory and reports information to purchasing and accounting
  • Responsible for phone coverage to ensure customers are able to access technical support (including staggered break times)
  • Provides technical support to customers and all staff (onsite, over the phone or via email)
  • Identifies parts needed for magent repairs, attachment or recycling equipment and prepares for shipment to customer
  • Trains customers and staff as required to use magnet, attachments, recycling equipment and other product as required
  • Demonstrates magnets, attachments, recycling equipment and/or other product to customers
  • Travels as necessary to support machine commissioning and/or repairs for all products
  • Assists in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including the creation of initial drafts
  • Creates and manages weekly schedule for jobs to be completed
  • Collaborates with all other lines of business for process improvements and/or technical support
  • Diagnoses root cause/troubleshoot magnets, machine attachment (grapples, shears), recycling equipment and other products and provides customer with guidance on next steps for repair
  • Builds control boxes

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical repair and troubleshooting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must supply own hand tools for position

 

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE

High School Diploma/GED
