Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler with expertise in planning, production control, and scheduling in an Engineer-To-Order manufacturing environment. This position effectively coordinates the scheduling of work and monitors work center activity through use of MRP and LEAN principles and tools. This position requires general knowledge of equipment and welding processes to effectively schedule and release projects to Manufacturing while understanding customer needs, capacity, priority requirements, equipment, and available materials.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Create and maintain overall production schedule and distribute work center dispatch lists according to production needs, priority, material and resources, and capacity.
  • Act as liaison among Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and maintaining constant communication with our internal team on changes if they occur.
  • Stay informed of all variables affecting active production schedule and adjust as needed while maintaining customer priorities.
  • Create and maintain look-ahead schedules on large-scale projects for submittal to  customers.
  • Create what-if schedules to determine service level and on-time delivery probability on prospective orders using production schedule as baseline.
  • Participate in determining assignment of projects to toll manufacturers and monitor toller schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Identify constraints and recommend actions to reduce lead times.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects to drive on-time delivery, cycle time reduction and cost avoidance.
  • Work to established ISO 9001 policies and safety programs and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Production/Operations Management, Planning, Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in master scheduling, materials planning and/or production control in a manufacturing environment utilizing an ERP based system.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and working knowledge of SAP software preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling and organizational skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • LEAN Six Sigma training/certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, estimating, plant production processes, and LEAN manufacturing preferred.
  • Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
