Job Description:
Manage financial accounting and reporting for privately held specialty contractor
using Computer Ease software.
Manage administrative/accounting staff and general office operations, supervise
weekly in-house payroll.
Job Responsibilities:
● Oversee all accounting and tax matters, including AP, AR, general ledger, and
payroll for three entities.
● Close books and prepare timely financial reports monthly and yearly.
● Cash management and monitor cash flow
● A/R: Manage Invoicing customers for work completed; monitor collections.
● A/P: Manage AP accounting individual.
● Annual 1099 tax statements.
● Supervise accounting staff, establish performance standards and expectations
for staff, review work assignments both in-progress and when completed.
● Handle owners’ capital equities accounts.
● Develop internal control system, recommend areas for improvement both
financial and operational, and establish new accounting policies and
procedures.
● Oversee all organization finances: Bank accounts, line of credit, loans.
Negotiate equipment financing with dealers/bank.
● Coordinate financial year-end review with accountants, annual audits with
insurance providers, and other agencies.
● Oversee in-house, weekly office payroll and field union payroll. Calculation and
submission of all withholding taxes.
● Annual fringe benefit payroll. Full reconciliation of all payrolls for generation of
W-2’s, ACA, IRS submissions.
Management
● Manage Surety company relationships, ratios, and internal reporting.
● Manage banking relationships. Negotiate and oversee credit facilities.
● As needed, work with legal counsel on corporate matters.
● Work with system analyst to coordinate backup system, hardware/software
purchases, internet/network issues, as they arise.
● Update Computer Ease software (as they occur)
● Annual records retention.
● Business licenses; Local municipalities
● Keep corporate minutes. As needed, update corporate resolutions.
● Review/Complete, as back up, credit reference requests for customers.
Additional Human Resources and Contract Maintenance
Required Education & Experience:
● Four-year Accounting Degree
● Min. Five years working for construction Company using construction
accounting software and managing direct or indirect accounting team.
● Extensive experience in all aspects of corporate accounting and financial
management with Federal, State & Local requirements.
● Proficiency in computer, organizational and communication skills.
