DESCRIPTION: To assist the Chief Financial Officer in reporting, coordination, and monitoring our financial activity. To provide assistance in all aspects of the accounting department to include but not limited to audits, monthly financial reports, payroll, payables / receivables, local, State, and Federal reporting.
DUTIES:
1.Provide direct supervision Staff Account Specialist and Staff Accountant.
2.Maintain and complete Finance Deadline Schedule on a daily basis.
3.Support CFO in all areas of the accounting department.
4.Manage and complete all aspects of the contracts and grants
5.Review and journal Staff payrolls.
6.Journal CDPAS payrolls
- Carry out accounting related portions of the 403 B process.
8.Work with CFO in the completion of the annual budgets.
9.Assist staff with day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
10.Executes and orchestrates all accounting audits.
11.Provides all information and serves as the agency lead contact to the contracted company for preparing the cost report and subsequent cost report audits.
12.Prepares the CFR and CFR related reports.
13.Works directly with Department Supervisors in maintaining contracts and budgets.
14.Perform any other duties deemed legally and ethically necessary by supervisor.
SUPERVISION: Works under the direct supervision of Chief Financial Officer of Western New York Independent Living.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE: Must at all times perform in a professional, conscientious and efficient manner for the purpose of ensuring a better quality of life for persons with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting. 3 – 5 years’ experience in accounting.
Must have experience with accounting software. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and intermediate skills with Microsoft Word.
