Our client, a large machine manufacturer headquartered in Rochester, NY is in search of a dynamic professional to join their Human Resources team.  The Human Resources director will be responsible for forming a comprehensive HR strategy that supports the growth and profitability of the organization, with a primary focus on Talent Management initiatives.  The ideal candidate will be very hands-on and highly involved in the tactical activities and actions required to implement and execute various HR initiatives.


  • Work with business leaders to create a Talent Management Strategy
  • Collaborate with managers to fill their talent needs and help create development plans
  • Lead talent management process
  • Create plan to hire and keep high potential talent
  • Liaison with local universities and organizations to promote the company
  • Lead employee development, training, and succession planning activities
  • Administer the performance review process to help develop current employees
  • Lead employee training to ensure everyone complies with business philosophy
  • Develop and implement HRIS to align with corporate strategies
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to members of the management team and employees
  • Drive strategic and tactical approaches for all HR areas including:  recruitment, employee development, employee relations, policy and procedure development, training, compensation, performance management, and payroll
  • Establish and maintain departmental reports and budgets and facilitate staff meetings including strategic deployment reviews
  • Creates content, reviews/edits and approves job descriptions for the operation
  • Interview, hire, and train HR staff; plan, assign and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve issues


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required, Master’s degree highly desired
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 8+ years of experience in an HR generalist role
  • 5+ years of experience in an HR management role with extensive experience in talent management
  • Prior management experience in operations, quality, supply chain, etc. highly desirable.
  • Must have recruiting and talent management implementation experience
