Description

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Controller will report to the President/CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company.  The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.  This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, insurance and private and institutional financing.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly/annual financial statements, management reports and budgets
  • Prepare quarterly and financial forecast updates
  • Set–up and maintain appropriate procedures for company deposits and disbursements
  • Set–up and maintain appropriate procedures for reconciling all cash accounts
  • Manage and report on company cash flow
  • Manage company funds to maximize interest income and minimize interest expense
  • Manage all debt of the company and report as required by debt documents to ensure compliance with all covenants related to debt
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Perform accounting as it relates to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and all other as required for financial reporting
  • Tax preparation: coordination of same with tax accountants
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Ensure reconciling is completed for all applicable accounts each month
  • Coordinate the completion of scheduled payroll processing
  • Act as payroll liaison for company HR/Payroll
  • Maintain employee benefits (ex: health, dental, life, HSA, FSA, 401k, etc.)
  • Manage Short-Term Disability and Worker’s Compensation administration
  • Complete annual reviews for all direct reports
  • Liaison with Managed IT Services company

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
  • 7-10 years of relevant and increasingly responsible experience
  • Some travel (up to 5%) may be required
