The Sr. Benefits Analyst will be working independently or with consultants to model premium equivalents and cost sharing structures for all H&W benefits and divisions/locations. This role will not be involved with direct benefits administration work and will have more of a strategic/analyst focus.

Direct hire, 80-85K


  • Creation and maintenance of annual premium and cost sharing master worksheets related to cost sharing structures
  • Cost modeling to support collective bargaining negotiations, projects and initiatives
  • Support design of new initiatives/programs and plan design changes. Review proposed changes and new programs to confirm vendor capabilities and compliance with regulations
  • Obtain census data and create benefit comparisons for newly acquired groups to support integration
  • Creation and maintenance of Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions and other required documents and disclosures for all H&W benefit plans
  • Primary contact on HIPAA privacy and security compliance, responsible for maintenance of HIPAA manual and documentation such as training materials and Business Associate Agreements (BAAs)
  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of required government filings such as 5500s. Includes coordination with vendors regarding required schedules and documents needed to support filings
  • Completion of annual required compliance testing
  • Staying up to date on new legislation; researching legislation’s impact on benefit plans, making recommendations on compliance approach
  • Act as lead person/project manager on special projects
  • Assist shared service center on resolution of escalated issues
  • Review open enrollment and other benefit related communication materials


  • Bachelor's degree and seven or more years’ benefit-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with both self-insured and insured welfare benefit plans
  • Ability to read and interpret plan documents, government regulations, benefit policies and guidelines and have a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of legislation pertaining to benefit programs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong PC skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • CEBS designation preferred
  • Experience with retirement benefits, nonqualified plans, Canadian benefits, and/or global voluntary benefits or with Manufacturing Operations a plus
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
