Our client has an exciting new opportunity for a Buyer within their Buffalo Office. This position ensures that the highest quality materials, and services are identified and purchased to maintain company standard. They will be responsible for establishing requirements for supplier goods and negotiating contracts.

This is a direct hire position. Salary is 45-55K DOE.


  • Establish requirements, specifications, expectations, terms, and conditions to prepare requests for quotes and approvals
  • Plan and negotiate purchasing contracts within the terms and conditions
  • Define quality standards and track variances in supplier provided goods, services, or equipment to evaluate supplier quality; adjust or maintain relationships accordingly
  • Implement and maintain contracts
  • Conduct on-going inventory checks against records on a regular basis to reconcile stock and inventory balances and ensure uninterrupted product availability
  • Perform annual physical inventories at print vendor warehouses to quantify the count and value of the physical inventory items
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders
  • Work with shipping & receiving department to ensure that orders for services and products are received within the purchasing system; ensure an Accounts Payable 3-way match is obtained


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • PeopleSoft Purchasing 9.2 experience, required
  • 2-4 years purchasing experience required; purchasing standard commodities for a multi-location healthcare work environment or other service-related industry
  • Previous experience with electronic purchasing systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
